"This book is
an excellent resource for teachers and students in K-12, as well as an
important addition to the literature in Asian American Studies,
curriculum and instruction, and urban schooling. It is among the first
to provide a much needed longitudinal understanding of both the
historical and contemporary experiences of the rapidly growing and
diverse Filipino American population, and does so through a number of
exciting and engaging learning activities. It can also be used as a
model to develop innovative and exciting teaching and learning programs
on the experiences of other ethnic and racial groups in the United
States."Don Nakanishi, Ph.D.
